What can images of penguin poo from space tell us about climate change? A new study used satellite images to track the changing color of Antarctic Adรฉlie penguin poo over 30 years. The color of the poo shows what penguins are eating. Pink or reddish poo means they ate krill, while whiter poo means they ate more fish. When there's more sea ice, penguins eat more fish, but when there's less sea ice, they eat more krill. Climate change is affecting penguin diets and the entire ecosystem.
