The Mini Bike That Broke a World Record

Have you ever tried riding a penny farthing bike? It's really hard because the front wheel is so big and the back wheel is so small.

Finn and Flo, who are 7 and 6 years old, rode this bike and broke a world record! They are now in the Guinness World Records book.

What is a Penny Farthing?

A penny farthing bike has two wheels that are different sizes. The front wheel is big and the back wheel is small. It's named after two old English coins.

This little bike is called 'Little Bee' and the front wheel is only 29 cm (11.4 inches) across. That's as big as a dinner plate!

World Record

Finn and Flo rode the bike really well on their first try and broke the record. The judge, Juliet Dawson, said it was 'fun, unusual, and very skillful'.

They broke the record at a big bike event in London called the City of London Nocturne.

Family Tradition

Finn and Flo's family loves penny farthing bikes. Their mom, Julie, used to hold the record for riding a penny farthing bike the fastest mile.

Finn and Flo weren't the only ones who broke records that day. Other new records included the biggest bike, juggling while riding a penny farthing bike, and riding a unicycle with their eyes closed.
