AS A SENIOR IN HIGHSCHOOL, IT WAS NICE FOR ME TO see people in different fields and start to think on which one I would like to go into. It was also great to learn about real world data because it showed the reality of issues. although sometimes the data was shocking, it educated me and I'm sure it educated others as well.
The guest speakers gave us an amazing insight into different fields of study; it was incredible to see how people from around the world are contributing to climate study.
I REALIZE THAT PRIOR TO THIS COURSE, I ONLY HAD A SURFACE-LEVEL understanding of climate change and its adverse effects. This fellowship has taught me so much about how things are interconnected in systems and how there are many stakeholders in this large of an issue. I plan on going into environmental science as a career, and I hope that this program expands and becomes annual if not even more often.
